Darth, John Moe finally reveals these lost notes alongside all the imagined letters, e-mails, text messages, and other correspondences your favorite pop culture icons never meant for you to see.

Kirk’s lost log entries and Yelp reviews of The Bates Motel and Cheers. Peruse top secret British intelligence files revealing the fates of Agents 001–006, or Don Draper’s cocktail recipe cards. Learn all of Jay-Z’s 99 problems, as well as the complete rules of Fight Club, and then discover an all-points bulletin concerning Bon Jovi, wanted dead or alive—and much more.

Like a like a bonus track to a favorite CD or a deleted scene from a cult movie, Dear Luke, We Need to Talk Darth offer a fresh twist on the pop culture classics we thought we knew by heart. You already know part of their story. Now find out the rest.

My Review:
I really liked the concept of this book. Getting to know the secrets behind some of our favorite pop culture things. What a cute idea. However, when I started it reading it, I got super bored. It wasn’t able to hold my attention. Maybe I just don’t like knowing all the secrets.

Book Review: Catching Jordan

Catching Jordan

ONE OF THE BOYS

What girl doesn’t want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn’t just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that’s just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she’s ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he’s also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan’s feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart’s on the line.

Goodreads

My Thoughts:

For a young adult book, this was pretty decent. It had humor, romance, love, and football. What more do you need? It was a nice, easy read. I breezed through this book in about two days. The characters are so easy to relate to.  It thought this book was going to be predictable and unoriginal. After I started reading, I was hooked. I want Jordan to achieve her dreams of playing college football. Why shouldn’t she? I loved how Jordan developed as a character. She started out as a tomboy. By the end she was this woman who wanted to play college football. I love the way that characters interacted with each other. Overall, this book was a good, easy read. I can’t wait to see what else Miranda Kenneally has in store for us.

Format: E-book

This weekly meme is hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey

Hello Loves!

Happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was busy with two soccer tournaments and a wedding. I was actually glad when Monday finally showed up.

I was wondering through the interweb when I came across this meme. What a wonderful idea!

Currently Listening to:The Silkworm (Cormoran Strike, #2)

When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days—as he has done before—and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home.

But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine’s disappearance than his wife realizes. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were to be published, it would ruin lives—meaning that there are a lot of people who might want him silenced.

When Quine is found brutally murdered under bizarre circumstances, it becomes a race against time to understand the motivation of a ruthless killer, a killer unlike any Strike has encountered before…

Friday iPhone Dump

Hello Loves!

My life has been crazy busy lately. Here is what I have been up too.

(From Top Left to Bottom Right)

1: Stella believed that the USA could win. What you don’t see in that picture is her treat box. She would not go near the pad of paper so I bribed her.

2: Since most of the World Cup games were on during work hours I figured out how to multi-task. Two games on at a time and work, no problem.

3: We were literally right next to the field a couple of weeks ago at the Sounders game. We could touch the players.

4: There are no words for this picture. We were stuck in the car for three hours.

20140711-082125-30085773.jpg

1: Stella really doesn’t like the Timbers. She chewed that ball up.

2: My little cousin graduated from high school. Crazy. I remember when he was born.

3: Saturday morning cuddles with my pup. She was so tired.

4: Right after we won in overtime!

Happy Friday!

Book review: The Opposite of Maybe

20140706-222121-80481005.jpg

Description:

Jonathan and Rosie have been together so long they finish each other’s sentences—so when he (finally) proposes and asks her to move across the country with him, everyone is happily surprised.
But when things suddenly unravel, Rosie sends Jonathan packing and moves back home with Soapie, the irascible, opinionated grandmother who raised her. Only now she has to figure out how to fire Soapie’s very unsuitable caregiver, a gardener named Tony who lets her drink martinis, smoke, and cheat at Scrabble.
It’s a temporary break, of course—until Rosie realizes she’s accidentally pregnant at 44, completely unequipped for motherhood, and worse, may be falling in love with the sentimental, troubled Tony, whose life is even more muddled than hers.
It’s not until Rosie learns the truth about her mother’s tragic story that she wonders if sometimes you have to let go of your fears, trustingthat the big-hearted, messy life that awaits you may just be the one you were meant to live.

Goodreads

My thoughts:
This book is original in the concept of it. Getting pregnant at 44 after an oops is something that I’ve never read before. Through in a crazy grandma who is still getting down at 88 years old, an obsessive boyfriend baby daddy, an overprotected circle of friends, and a younger man makes for a great read. The love triangle was to die for. I went through every emotion possible reading this book. At times, I would get so mad at Rosie for being so naïve but then the next page I would be so happy for her. I felt sadness when her grandma died. Anger when she actually left her old life to start over with her teacup loving boyfriends. Happiness when she chose Tony. Overall this book is a great summer read. It was quick and engaging until the very end.

Recently I signed up for the Books”n” Bloggers swap over at Chaotic Goddess Swaps. This is my favorite swap that they ladies do. I’m so glad they have this one twice a year.

I was partnered with Chanpreet over at Confessions of A Y.A & N.A Book Addict. You should check her out. She’s pretty awesome.

Chanpreet and I have very simpler taste so I was so excited to see what she sent me. She didn’t disappointed. There were three books and tons of goodies in there. I’ve been having so much fun going through all the little goodies she sent me!

The best part was that Beautiful Disaster was signed by the author.

I can’t wait to send the next few days reading.

Thanks Chanpreet!
